Lately, I haven't shared many details about what's been going on in my life, so I have decided to give you guys an update on some recent happenings that have taken place in the past few weeks.
Those who have read my past blogs know that I used to be unemployed, and somewhat unhappy and unfulfilled with that aspect of my life. But guess what?! I am no longer jobless; I now work at a Christian book store, and I've truly been blessed with the opportunity to work with a great team of people, who in a short period of time, have become good friends of mine. I strongly believe that God put me there for a reason, and I will do my best to please him and my employer!
I was also contacted by the manager of our local Humane Society, and I went in for an interview yesterday for a shelter attendant position, and I think it went pretty well. He gave me a tour of the facility and introduced me to multiple members of the staff. Afterwards, he told me that the Board of Directors would have to approve my scheduling before he could hire me, so I'm in the waiting process. We'll see I suppose; if it was meant to happen it will!
Moving on, I have to mention how terribly hot and humid it's been in the past couple weeks! The weather has been almost unbearable. I really wish that the spring season could last all year long; it's gorgeous outside, the temperatures are moderate, and the stingy insects are still hibernating (or whatever they do on their free time).
I guess it's time to conclude my blogging, Truffles has began to chew on my fingers, hinting that its playtime. Until next time, adios!

Congrats on the job! I worked in a bookstore (Books-A-Million) several years back, and for the most part, enjoyed my time there. As in your experience, the people I worked with were really nice. That was the best part about working there (and the reading, if management didn't catch you and say something). I formed some really good friendships with the people there, and I still keep in contact and hang-out with some of them. In fact, I might never have discovered George R.R. Martin if I hadn't worked there.

Also, the great thing for me about working in a bookstore is I learned a good bit about the publishing industry from the retailer's standpoint. Before working there, I never knew the main table areas and end of aisle displays were valuable real-estate, purchased by the publisher as means to help market their books. Also, I was able to monitor the best-sellers to get a general feel of what types of books were selling well and why.

It was a valuable experience that will hopefully prove useful as I work to finally finish my novel and move towards selling, publishing, and marketing it.

Best of luck with your latest interview as well!
